This Is Not a Government Office or Records Custodian. We operate a private reference site. We cannot pull records, certify copies, run a title search, or change an assessment. Those requests go to the office that holds the record. For emergencies, dial 911. If you believe you are being stalked or harassed, contact local police.

For a Clerk request, include the record type, the parties or parcel involved, and an approximate date or deed book and page when known. The West Virginia FOIA statute generally requires a response within five days, excluding weekends and legal holidays, subject to applicable exemptions. Contact the custodian for confirmation of delivery methods, copy charges, and access requirements.
The West Virginia Secretary of State also provides an online public-records request route. Use it for records held by that state office; Ohio County land, assessment and tax files should still be requested from their county custodian.

A state request form is not a substitute for an Ohio County Clerk, Assessor or Sheriff request. Send each question to the public body that maintains the specific record.
